Hello again! Welcome back to my space column! If you haven’t seen my first articles, Earth and Mercury, feel free to look at them. Now that we’ve gone over Mercury, it’s time for Venus!
Earth’s Evil Twin
I know this seems like a strange nickname, but there is reasoning behind it. Venus has a very thick atmosphere made of carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid. This causes the greenhouse effect, which recirculates heat and warms it up even more. The temperatures created by this are hot enough to melt lead. Venus’ clouds are a milky white, causing them to reflect a lot of sunlight. This is how Venus got the other (other) nickname, the Morning Star.

Ways They’re Similar
Yep, I’m talking about Earth and Venus. They are evil twins, after all. The composition (fancy word for “what it’s made of”) between Earth and Venus is eerily similar, even though Venus’ tectonics have stopped. They both have a thin crust and an iron core surrounded by a mantle. (These are all fancy space terms you can ask me or your teacher about.) Both have magnetospheres, although Earth’s is larger. Venus’ magnetosphere, on the other hand, apparently looks like a comet.
