This is my second chapter of “The Night School” that I wrote last year (here’s the first chapter, in case you missed it). I like to base my characters on my close friends like my best friends Harper and Harley, “famous” people like Colby Brock from Sam and Colby on YouTube, TV characters like Eric Mathews and Shawn Hunter from “Boy Meets World.” Then I write some kind of story line to base everything. For everything else I come up with it on the spot and will fix the spelling and grammar after, like stated in the last chapter so please enjoy.
Story line: A boy goes to his friend and gets lost in the woods to her house, when this random school appears that was never there before. He gets chased in by someone or something, and whenever the lights flicker something happens.
Figure out the title: “The Night School”
Then write chapter title: “No Way Out”
Eric:
Main — based on Shawn Hunter, Eric Mathews, and Colby Brock — Brown hair, blue eyes, tannish, 5’9”. commonly in darker clothing like a black shirt with forest green pants, rings, Converse, street smart not usually dumb, mostly serious, 17, always on his phone and will never go anywhere without it, always has his bag.
Chapter 2–No Way Out
Eric’s heart is running, eyes darting across the door, trying to listen for anything. Something to help. The lights turn on like it was never abandoned. He reaches for his phone, but it’s gone. Shear panic courses through him, the doors locked with no way of getting out, no one to call for help, no way out. The school bell… rings? His bag disappears when the lights flicker, the sounds of doors shutting and teachers teaching. “What the…” Eric gets cut off by a locker opening, and then the locker slams against the wall with a note attached to the door. Curiously Eric walks toward it; the school sounds getting louder with every step. The last step toward the note with the unbearably loud noise then stops, with the note reading, “Follow school rules.” Then the lights flicker as a classroom door creaks open with words scratched into it, reading, “Staring is rude, no running in the school, don’t be late, DON’T STARE!” The school bell rings as a countdown from ten appears on the clock. Eric rushes to a classroom not wanting to find out what happens when he’s “late.”
Three knocks come from the door and the monster walks in saying, “Okay class, take your seats so
we can begin. Remember, no staring.” Eric rushes to a seat, looking down so he isn’t tempted to stare.
Lights flicker as desks disappear one by one until it was him and the monster. Frozen to the spot, not sure what is happening. Then, another flash of lights, everything is gone, even the monster, and the door opens. Eric runs out down the hall when he turns the corner. That… monster is there, saying in a dark voice “NO RUNNING” and begins walking closer. Eric slowly starts to walk back, as they both gain speed and out of nowhere, all the doors slam shut. When he thinks there is no way out, the lights flicker.
Thank you for reading and be sure to stay tuned for Chapter 3!
