Short Stories with Elora

This is how I write a short story. I like to base my characters on my close friends like my best friends Harper and Harley, “famous” people like Colby Brock from Sam and Colby on YouTube, TV characters like Eric Mathews and Shawn Hunter from “Boy Meets World.” Then I write some kind of story line to base everything. For everything else I come up with it on the spot and will fix the spelling and grammar after.

Eric:

Main 1 — based on Shawn Hunter, Eric Mathews, and Colby Brock — brown hair, blue eyes, tannish, 5’9”.  Commonly in darker clothing like a black shirt with forest green pants, rings, Converse, street smart, not usually dumb, mostly serious, he is 17, always on his phone and will never go anywhere without it, always has his bag. 

Haylie:

Main 2 — based on Harper and Harley — long flowy brown hair, dark green eyes, tan 5’5’’, light colored clothing like a pink shirt, blue hoodie, and either a white skirt or blue jeans with purple Converse.  Usually dumb, but full of energy, she is 16, never has her phone with her, has her purse with random stuff in it. 

Story line: A boy goes to his friend and gets lost in the woods to her house when this random school appears that was never there before. He gets chased in by something, and whenever the lights flicker something happens. 

Figure out the title: “The Night School” 

Then write chapter title: “The Start of It All” 

Chapter 1 – The Start of It All

       During the long walk to Haylie’s, he hears, 

       “AAHHH!”

       Eric screams, jumping back grasping his phone. It sounds like a girl but there is no one in sight. He looks toward the sound when a huge shadow moves in the bushes. He’s terrified and runs, trying to get to Haylie’s  as fast as he can. Running with something following him not so far behind. The path is long but he never knew what he’s running from. After what felt like minutes. As the path feels longer than before and he should be at her house by now, he stands nowhere near haylie’s house but there just a few yards away is a… School? 

“Where am I? This shouldn’t be here” Eric says. As soon as he tries to text Haylie… CRACK!  

       Eric turns to see the monster that was following him. As it stands up, what he can imagine is the monster’s back, cracking with every move. Its eyes are over 6 feet in the air. Eric can’t see its body, only the outline of this tall shadow covering him. In terror Eric runs, jumping over the fence and rushing in the doors. He looks back at the monster. It’s in the same position it was, but as he continues to stare at it, the doors automatically look and the monster runs towards him. Stopping right before it hits the door.
