Teacher Spotlight: Mrs. Marion VanHoose
Get to know more about the 6th-8th math teacher.
Mrs. VanHoose is the 6th through 8th grade math teacher here at our school. She spends her free time reading, especially her favorite book Persuasion by Jane Austen. She also enjoys sewing, gardening, or cooking some of her favorites, like Mexican food. Her favorite movie is Forrest Gump and her favorite holiday is Easter.
When Mrs. VanHoose’s son Tim, was struggling with 3rd grade math, she decided to go back to school and become a teacher. She has been helping kids learn math for seven years now. She does take on her least favorite part of grading, but it’s worth it to help kids one-on-one. She has taught the grade levels of 6-12.
She is very proud of her kids all getting into great schools. Her oldest son, Tim, is going to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; younger son, Tom, is getting HVAC certification in Springfield; and her daughter, Kate, has been accepted at Missouri S&T.
