There are many football teams and leagues in the world. At one point these top five leagues emerged: the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, and MLS (Major League Soccer), although technically it isn’t in the top five leagues.

So, let’s start with number five, Ligue 1. This league is in France and has an equal group of teams, but the one that stands out is Paris Saint-Germain, more commonly known as PSG. They are a very expensive team, having a worth of almost 870 million euros, or about 946 million dollars. The main attraction of PSG is their attacking four. They have Di Maria, Neymar, Mbappe, and one of the biggest signings the world has ever seen, Lionel Messi. When Messi transferred from Barcelona to PSG the world went mad. The club put out 832,000 copies of his jersey, and sold out in just thirty minutes.

In fourth we have Serie A. Overall this is a strong league, but the biggest teams are Juventus FC, AC Milan, and Inter Milan. Juventus just lost Cristiano Ronaldo, who signed with Manchester United. All of these teams are talented though, and they have entertaining games to watch. All of these teams have a good shot at being the best team in the world.

The third league is Bundesliga, which is honestly not a very fair league. There are two teams that practically run this league, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. The reason for that is because they get young talented players for their youth teams, and they have great coaches that turn them into some of the best players in the league. There are good teams, and the games in this league are fun to watch, so enjoy it when you can.

The second football league in the world is La Liga. This is a Spanish league that has 2.8 billion fans. If you remember from earlier, I mentioned Lionel Messi joining PSG in League 1. Well, his former team, Barcelona FC, plays here. This league is great and has some huge games that cause some of the most drama in the football world. One of these big games is the Él Clasico, meaning “The Classic” in English. These Él Clasicos are when Barcelona and Real Madrid play a game against each other. Even though it is just a league game they get a ton of attention from around the world. One specific player I want to note from this league is Sergiño Dest. He is an American player who U.S. soccer fans love.

The top league in the world is the Premier League. This league plays in England, and has 3.2 billion fans. All of the teams are top tier. You can not predict the score line of the games. I think that is why people love it. At one undefined point “the big six” emerged. These teams consist of Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham. Manchester United, Tottenham, and Arsenal have not been having a very good 2022, but they still have a good game every now and then.

The last league I want to talk about is Major League Soccer, or more commonly known as MLS. This is the best league in America because of its viewership, and it is the goal of the majority of soccer players in the U.S. to play in this league. I have seen enough of this league to say that the games are still good, but the team’s quality isn’t quite as high as the European leagues.
