Occasionally, I’ll post a recap and results from a Formula One race. Here’s a recap from the Turkish Grand Prix, held the weekend of October 8-10, 2021.

- Lap 1/58 : Fernando Alonso spun off and dropped into 15th position. Proceeding his spin, Alonso bumped into Mick Schumacher who then spun off.
- Lap 8-9/58 : Pierre Gasly and Fernando Alonso each received a 5-second time penalty for causing a collision.
- Lap 15/58 : Current World Champion Lewis Hamilton, who started in 11th position, has worked his way up to 5th position.
- Lap 18/58 : Carlos Sainz, one of the back runners, has worked his way up into 9th position.
- Lap 22/58 : Daniel Ricciardo is the first to pit for a new set of intermediate tires.
- Lap 24/58 : The rain has started to come down harder as Ricciardo is the only driver to have come in for new tires.
- Lap 38/58 : Race leader Valtteri Bottas finally pits after leading for 38 laps.
- Lap 42/58 : Mercedes tells Hamilton to come in for a pit stop but Hamilton replies “Why?” as he decides to stay out.
- Lap 45/58 : The current leader, Leclerc, has locked up. Now the gap between him and Bottas is just 1 second.
- Lap 47/58 : Bottas retakes the lead as Ferrari tells Leclerc to come into the pits.
- Lap 51/58 : Hamilton pits and comes back out in 5th, moving Leclerc into 3rd position with Perez between the two.
- Lap 58/58 : Bottas wins his 10th grand prix.Verstappen and Perez finish 2nd and 3rd, joining Bottas on the podium.
