This year we got a new art teacher here at St. Patrick Catholic School, Mrs. Schwalje.
Mrs. Schwalje has always loved teaching. Before she took the art job she was the 3rd grade teacher’s aide. Before she had kids she was a teacher and really wanted to get back into it so it was a perfect opportunity for her to teach and share her faith.
She loves to draw and paint with her students and watch all the creative artwork they make. On her own time she loves to do her favorite kind of art which is pottery. Her favorite artist is Henri Matisse because of his use of abstract lines and colors. Although her favorite artist is Henri Matisse her favorite painting is Michelangelo the Last Supper.
