Catholic Schools Week: Canned Food Drive

Includes Photo Gallery

At Saint Patrick’s, we are called to serve those who are unable to stand alone. Thus, every year during Catholic schools week, our school holds a fundraiser for the local food pantry. The class who brings in the most money at the end of the week is traditionally privileged to pie the principal. However, with the recent shifting of the diocese toward stewardship instead of fundraisers, the school decided to run a canned food drive. And now the winning class will be rewarded with a pizza party, bringing disappointment to the hearts of many students.

This year, the canned food drive was a massive success. The school as a whole managed to bring in over 4,000 items, which will all be sent to our food pantry. The kindergarten class placed third, 6th Grade placed second, and 8th Grade took first place.
