Lecomte Stakes:
Fair Grounds, the third-oldest racetrack in the country, hosted the Lecomte Stakes on the twenty-second of January. Last year, this race produced a derby starter named Midnight Bourbon. The race offers 10-4-2-1 points to the first through fourth finishers. The longshot (underdog), Call Me Midnight, pulled out a great stretch rally coming from the back of the pack to challenge Epicenter for the win. The race finished in 1:44.36 (1 minute, 44 seconds, 36 milliseconds). Some recognisable horses ran in this field of nine, including Surfer Dude and Papacap who are also on the derby leaderboard.
