A Readers Realm
The Scholastic Book Fair has once again returned to St. Patrick’s
Twice a year, Scholastic Book Fair comes to our school for the fall and spring book fairs. The theme for this fall is Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). The book fair is located near the playground door in the gym and is decorated with colorful banners, strings of tissue paper flowers, and fun backdrops.
Books for every age group, trinkets and posters are just some of the things the fair has to offer. Graphic novels, thrillers, and picture books fill some of the shelves.
Mrs. Ratchford and Mrs. Meyerott head up both the fall and spring book fairs, set up the books and decorations, run the book fair every day and hand out prizes for the caught reading tickets. Cups, treats, stuffed animals, Scholastic dollars, and Starbucks gift cards are some of the prizes received.
The fundraiser is a fun way to raise money for the school. Thanks to volunteers for making this happen, the students of St. Patrick are grateful for the chance to buy new books and win fun prizes for caught reading tickets.
