Debate It!: Tall vs. Short

Is it better to be tall or to be short?

Being Tall is Better

Being what most might consider a short person, I can say that I would rather be tall. If you are tall, when you’re playing sports, there’s no need to jump! You can just stand there, above everyone else, and catch or header the ball. And, when someone is looking for you in a crowd, there’s no way you could be missed. You can reach the top shelf no problem and your stride length is greater than others, so you can out-stride most people in a race.

Now, I’m not talking about being ten foot, just around six foot. So, that is why I think that being tall is better.

Being Short is Better

Yes, I’m 5’10. Yes, I brag about it. But inside, I’d rather be short. Yeah it’s cool and stuff to look down on everyone, but the thing is you stand out. Everyone looks at you and thinks, Wow, he’s tall! I don’t like it when people look at me all the time and think things. I guess a lot of it is what kind of person you are. Also everything you do is kinda wobbly and ungraceful. I get tripped up a lot and not to mention I hit my head on stuff. Being short means that you can blend in and have more control over where your limbs go and you won’t hit your head on doorways. Also I look like a giraffe.

NOW I’M NOT SAYING BEING TALL ISN’T FUN. It is, but being short would be more convenient for the reasons listed above.
